3D Virtual Shelves – An alternative to physical shelf testing

24 Mar 2020

COVID-19 has caused quite a disruption to everyone’s life. The limitation this has put on our social and working life is unprecedented. In these times, online solutions such as online virtual shelves come into play.

With everyone now having to work from their living rooms or spare bedrooms, this can become challenging. For the unseasoned home worker, he/she is crowded with a feeling of isolation and real disconnection from the outside world and colleagues.

Soon enough you do find a balance. It is, however, very important to make sure you stay in a good space and have a routine. If possible, maintain regular working hours with lunch, etc at the same time.

It is difficult given that you are not alone, and the addition of others in the household does add to this.

The situation with COVID-19 has also affected how some clients do shopper research. No longer are you able to use physical shelves for shopper research with person to person interviews, mock-up shelf’s or in-store exercises, real-world or test environments.

This means that the only viable alternative is to look for an online virtual shelf solution that can allow the customers/respondents to view a virtual mockup of a store while being interviewed.

How does this work?

How does this work? Quite simply, a unique link is sent to the interviewee, which they can access from home/isolation. At the same time, you can set up a skype call or any other conference application to speak with the individual about the virtual shopping trip.

Using virtual stores to replace physical shopper testing

We can set up virtual shelves/store in any number of ways and add features as needed. This gives our clients the flexibility to rapidly test packaging, planogram layouts or signage online.

Until the COVID -19 situation eases or is resolved somehow, we wish you all the success and hope that our solution can go some way to helping you achieve your goals and project aims.
